1,000 fans (which sort?) | Seth's Blog

Not all customers are fans. And not all fans are the sort of customers you can thrive with. Cadres of supporters often migrate into one of two camps… The generous stans (a more positive riff … One reason for the split is that some creators and small businesses respond to early fan response by doing things to the audience (cashing out) as opposed to working to do things with and for them (leading). It puts some fans on the defensive, even if this particular creator has made the difficult decision to stick with the mission. When Kevin Kelly coined the term 1,000 True Fans fifteen years ago, he was describing more than fandom.Seth Godin's Blog on marketing, tribes and respectThey point out that the galvanic isolation in the new breakthrough product could have been even more sophisticated, or that the unreleased album is much better than this one… One of the most common complaints is that the hypothetical perfect imagined by a fan is so much better than the actually productive and powerful good created for them.At the same time, I see small businesses and creators that I care about struggling, simply because their fans are not only taking them for granted, they’re becoming entitled and insular as well. When fans commit to a movement and help it grow, they benefit.

I believe that creators need to amass only 100 True Fans—not 1,000—paying them $1,000 a year, not $100.Today, creators can effectively make more money off fewer fans. Sound unlikely? We’re already seeing this shift, according to creator platforms. On Patreon, the average initial pledge amount has increased 22 percent over the past two years. Since 2017, the share of new patrons paying more than $100 per month—or $1,200 per year—has grown 21 percent. On the online course platform Podia, the number of creators earning more than $1,000 in a month is growing 20 percent each month, while the average number of customers per creator is growing at a rate of 10 percent.

1000 True Fans Is The Key To Success

If each of these true fans were to spend a modest amount on an artist’s work annually, the cumulative financial support can provide a sustainable income. If each of these true fans were to spend a modest amount on an artist’s work annually, the cumulative financial support can provide a sustainable income. For instance, if each fan were to contribute $100 a year, this would translate to an annual revenue of $100,000 — Yes, it’s possible, and likely, if done right. Those first 1000 true fans can be the foundation for long-term success, providing not just financial support but a community that’s deeply invested in your journey. We’re here to help you cultivate that connection and turn it into something sustainable and impactful. ... The 1,000 True Fans theory, proposed by Kevin Kelly, suggests that to be a successful creator, one doesn’t need millions of fans. The theory operates on the premise that if you can earn an average profit of $100 from each of your true fans annually, and you have 1,000 of them, you can earn $100,000 per year. This amount can provide a decent living for most individuals.Depending on the creator’s niche and the amount they can earn from each fan annually, the number might need adjustment. For instance, if a creator can only earn $50 instead of $100 per fan annually, they might need 2,000 true fans to achieve the same income.

Question - Setting fan curve to 0 rpm | Tom's Hardware Forum

TLDR: I want to keep fans off until the temps start to rise. My old DC fans couldn't be set to TLDR: I want to keep fans off until the temps start to rise. My old DC fans couldn't be set to <60% in the bios fan curve.Older 3-pin versus newer 4-pin PWM has almost NO influence on this question. Voltage Control Mode and PWM Mode are only signal METHODS for setting a fan speed. Deciding what speed is required is a separate question - that is the fan Profile option. Your mobo's fan header Profile options MAY include an ability to allow the fan to shut off, OR it may actually refuse to let you do that. When you go to set up your own custom "fan curve" it may impose no restrictions so that you need to get it right. Or it may prevent you from letting it stall. It all depends on how your mobo is designed. My "almost" adjective is because there is a small effect that still is important, with two aspects.Every fan has a Stall Speed - if you try to get it slower than this it will stall and NOT re-start until the control signal (of whichever form) is raised sufficiently. Then the related Start-up signal (again of whichever type) is the minimum required to get a stalled fan to re-start.

Realme is going to unveil a phone with at least 10,000 mAh battery capacity during its "828 Fan Festival" on August 27.I like the cooling fan and the big battery. If the presented picture is true this gonna be the best design ever from Realme in introducing the first thinnest smartphone carries 10K mah battery. I can not wait the launch time. The device will also have a built-in cooling fan - that is, unless the company plans to unveil more than one handset during its 828 Fan Festival, that's also a possibility of course.Unfortunately, no other specs have been shared by the brand, so everything besides the battery capacity and cooling fan's presence remains a mystery.

I recently rewrote it to convey the core ideas, minus out-of-date details. This revisited essay appears in Tim Ferriss’ new book, Tools of Titans. I believe the 1,000 True Fans concept will be useful to anyone making things, or making things happen. You get to keep all of their support, unlike the small percent of their fees you might get from a music label, publisher, studio, retailer, or other intermediate. If you keep the full $100 of each true fan, then you need only 1,000 of them to earn $100,000 per year.Millions of paying fans is not a realistic goal to shoot for, especially when you are starting out. But a thousand fans is doable. You might even be able to remember a thousand names. If you added one new true fan per day, it’d only take a few years to gain a thousand. The number 1,000 is not absolute. The actual number has to be adjusted for each person. If you are able to only earn $50 per year per true fan, then you need 2,000. (Likewise if you can sell $200 per year, you need only 500 true fans.) Or you may need only $75K per year to live on, so you adjust downward.

Why are my fans showing 0 RPM in NZXT CAM? – NZXT Support Center

If you have an NZXT CAM powered Fan Controller in your PC or an NZXT Motherboard, you may notice some fan headers may show a 0 RPM rating. This guide will help cover a few reasons why you may expe... The most common reason a Fan Connector will report 0 RPM is because a fan is either not connected to the header or it is improperly connected. The RPM number is provided from the TACH sense pin on either a PWM or DC fan. Most splitters will include only a single 4-pin connection with the others omitting the second pin. This second pin is the TACH sense pin and is required to get a reading. When connecting only one or two fans to these splitters, make sure at least one fan is plugged directly into this 4-pin connection. To start, it is recommended to check if the fan itself is detected in CAM.If the controller detects a fan, you will see either a PWM or DC in the top-right corner of the fan curve.

Instead, I got the most valuable…There are customers, there are fans, and then there are true fans. The latter is where you want to focus your energy on. These are the people that not only buy your book, but also buy the updated version, the audiobook, maybe even the Kindle edition so they can take it on the road. But if you can create just that, surely that customer will feel special. It’s like the barista knowing your name when you walk in: it makes you feel recognized and more likely to return. To get to a thousand true fans, Kelly advises you to build a direct relationship with your customers, especially in the early days.True fans help you with two things. First they’ll buy almost everything you put out, allowing you to make a living while working on your craft. Second, as enthusiastic as those true fans are, they will tell their friends about your product, spreading your story.

The Concept of 1,000 True Fans - SendOwl Blog

Kevin Kelly’s essay 1,000 True Fans reframed what it meant to be a successful creative entrepreneur. But how many true fans does a creator need in 2022? Put simply, Kevin argues that a creator only needs 1,000 people willing to provide $100 each year of profit in order to generate $100,000 of annual income. For the millions of people whose goal it is to become a successful creator, this framework shows the value of having a hyper-engaged audience and building relationships based on trust. In fact, writer Li Jin argues that creators really only need 100 true fans to make a living (we’ll get into that later).Over the years, marketers have pointed out the flaws in assuming it only takes 1,000 (or 100) people to keep a business running — with some going so far as to call it a myth. So which is it? What model is the most realistic? We’ll explore the concept in its entirety, review potential hiccups, discuss Li Jin’s model for creators of today, and answer how to cultivate true fans in your business. This is essential to receiving the full (or close to) $100 in profit from each true fan — without giving large percentages away to labels, studios, publishers, and similar entities. The first point, importantly, highlights that this model doesn’t factor in expenses, which is important to consider when determining pricing and estimating profit from selling digital products. The second point highlights the old-world model, wherein publishers and studios determined whose creative work was successful. The concept of 1,000 true fans requires creators to bypass these gatekeepers and develop personal relationships with the audience that wants their work.Furthermore, Kelly argues that these gatekeepers — in the form of corporations, intermediaries, and commercial producers — are ill-equipped to connect with audiences across niches. This provides a huge opportunity for creators to produce content for a specific audience and cultivate diehard fans for their business. The framework of 1,000 true fans is sound but not without its challenges.

You Only Need 1,000 Fans To Be Successful

You don't need millions of fans to make a six-figure income through social media. The question then becomes how do you actually acquire these fans, and how do you know whether or not they are loyal enough to support you long-term? In Pat Flynn’s book, Superfans, he explains the concept similarly. Superfans are what Kelly defined as the core 1,000.These 1,000 fans are loyal to you, connected to you directly, and have directly and significantly been impacted by your work.“To make a living as a craftsperson, photographer, musician, designer, author, animator, app maker, entrepreneur, or inventor you need only thousands of true fans.” ...
